Duke Realty didn’t just raise cash and equipment donations during this year’s ISC Corporate Challenge but brought home some glory, as well, with our strongest-ever finish in the two-day competition. Held September 19 and 26 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the ISC Corporate Challenge encourages fitness and supports health-oriented nonprofit organizations.
This year’s team—our seventh to participate—finished second out of 15 teams in our industry and third out of 35 teams in our division. At this time last year, we were thrilled with our overall finish in 31st place; this year we’re celebrating a 14th place finish—out of 160 teams.
Quite a jump, and it owes a lot to some great finishes among our teammates:
- Genevieve Boyle and Tracy Swearingen each won their half-mile races.
- Matt Laucks, Kelsey Smith, and David Martin won the golf chipping challenge.
Our associates raised $503 to help support local youth sports programs and we donated 197 pounds of sports equipment to benefit the Geared For Health program. Special thanks go out to Darrell Phillips for donating a weight bench and weights.
We also appreciate the contribution of Denny Oklak, who squared off against fellow executives in the CEO Selfie Challenge.
We’re always glad to have a chance to support our communities and prove ourselves as a team—through donations and solid game-day performances. This event has proven to be a great avenue for fun community involvement, and we’re already looking forward to the next.
