Duke Realty to develop 10,500-square-foot emergency department that will offer expanded healthcare services on TriHealth’s Bethesda Butler County hospital campus in Hamilton.
(Cincinnati and Indianapolis, July 2, 2012) – Butler County residents will have even more healthcare options, thanks to a new 10,500-square-foot emergency department (ED) that Indianapolis-based Duke Realty will develop at 3075 Hamilton Mason Road in the city of Hamilton, which is north of Cincinnati.
A groundbreaking ceremony took place June 28 for the new ED, which will be located near an existing inpatient facility on TriHealth’s 5-acre campus. The entire campus will be known as TriHealth Bethesda Butler County hospital campus.
The new ED will be jointly owned by Duke Realty and Butler County Surgical Properties (BCSP), a partnership of physicians employed by TriHealth. The facility will be 100 percent leased for 15 years to Bethesda North Hospital.
“We are pleased to continue our strong, long-standing partnership with Bethesda North leadership to help them further their goal of being the preeminent provider of healthcare to the residents of Butler County,” says Keith Konkoli, Duke Realty Senior Vice President, Healthcare, for the Midwest Region.
“The new emergency department truly speaks to TriHealth’s ongoing commitment to meet the healthcare needs of local residents,” says Gerry Oliphant, TriHealth’s Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer. “Through these enhanced healthcare services, the community should expect to continue experiencing the highest quality care and patient satisfaction.”
The new ED will be part of a 109,092-square-foot, five-building acquisition that Duke Realty announced in March. The buildings, located at 3035, 3055, 3075, 3125 and 3145 Hamilton Mason Rd., include a 10-bed inpatient surgical hospital, a sleep center, an imaging center and physician offices that are all leased to Bethesda North Hospital. The acquisition raised Duke Realty’s portfolio of owned and managed healthcare properties in the Cincinnati market to 247,890 square feet and its nationwide portfolio to nearly 4.2 million square feet.
The architect for the project is the Cincinnati office of PFB Architects, and Duke Realty is the general contractor. The new ED is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2013.
