The program promotes all aspects of wellness—including physical, emotional, and financial health—through interactive programs, online resources, and generous incentives.
If we’re at work in a community, we believe we have a responsibility to help make it a better place to live. We show our community support through personal volunteer efforts by our associates and financial contributions to organizations that rely on the generosity of others.
We encourage our associates to participate in volunteer/community activities and support those who do by providing each associate with two paid community days per year. One of these paid community days is used on an annual company-wide Day of Service, when associates in every Duke Realty office volunteer with local organizations in their communities on the same day.
Plus, Duke Realty increases associates’ contributions to not-for-profit organizations by matching their contributions dollar for dollar and providing financial support to organizations for which Duke Realty associates volunteer their time.

Duke Realty has a longstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our business, including the diversity of our suppliers. We have created a robust program dedicated to education, awareness, and advocacy related to diversity and inclusion—within our company, in our communities, and in our business and partner relationships. Our Diversity and Inclusion Council leads efforts to increase and advocate for diversity and inclusion by driving initiatives, providing educational events, and awarding specific efforts to become more inclusive within our teams and communities.
Developing and sustaining relationships that value our differences provides a foundation for our business success. Cultivating a workplace culture that respects the ideas and contributions of all associates ensures that we function at our best—and just keep getting better.
As we’ve focused on developing strong relationships that value diversity and inclusion, we’ve had the privilege of growing our client base to include many organizations that share those same values. Many of our leases and projects originated from a shared drive toward more diverse workplaces.
In 2019, our commitment to diversity was honored by Nareit, the global representative and policy organization for our industry. We’re proud to have earned Nareit’s first Corporate Award through its Dividends Through Diversity Recognition Program, and proud that our CEO Jim Connor was honored with the Individual Award.

Our efforts have earned us awards from within our industry as well as the communities we serve. We’ve been recognized by 2020 Women on Boards as a Winning “W” Company. This recognition, along with the contributions of our female executives, led to our inclusion in the PAX Ellevate Global Women’s Index Fund.
