225,000-square foot, rail-served facility also will serve as processing/distribution center
(Indianapolis, Ind. – Jan.5, 2011) D-A Lubricant Company, an Indianapolis-based company that provides liquid lubricating products to the commercial industry, has announced that it is moving its operations to Lebanon Business Park, a Duke Realty Corporation (Duke Realty)-developed and managed industrial park in Lebanon, Ind., just off I-65 and State Road 32. D-A Lubricant Company will purchase a 23-acre site within the Park and has selected Duke Realty to construct a new 225,000-square foot industrial facility for its operations.
“After nearly a year and a half search, we selected Lebanon Business Park largely due to the rail service available, but also because of the teamwork between the city of Lebanon, Boone County Economic Development Corporation (Boone EDC) and Duke Realty in working with us to meet our needs,” said Mike Protogere, Chairman and CEO of D-A Lubricant. “Both Lebanon Mayor Huck Lewis and Dax Norton, Executive Director of the Boone EDC, worked diligently to ensure that our relocation to Lebanon was in the city’s and our best interests. Duke Realty offered us a first-class business park that meets our transportation requirements, as well as the ability to deliver a building that’s exactly suited to our needs.”
“We are extremely pleased that D-A Lubricant has selected the city of Lebanon for its new facility,” said Mayor Lewis. “We are fortunate to have a business park that has the infrastructure in place to attract companies that help bring jobs to our community.”
“This is a very good project for the county and indicative of the appeal of the transportation options Lebanon Business Park offers businesses involved in the movement of product,” added Norton. “D-A Lubricant has been in business since 1919 and remains an excellent, strong company. We welcome them to Boone County.”
“Several years ago, the city of Lebanon and Duke Realty elected to bring rail service to Lebanon Business Park, planning for clients such as D-A Lubricant who rely on this transportation option for delivery of raw materials and distribution of its finished products,” said Charlie Podell, Senior Vice President of Duke Realty’s Indiana operations. “Our investment has helped us differentiate the Lebanon Business Park as the only rail-served master-planned distribution location and accelerated our ability to secure new businesses to the park.”
Currently located near downtown Indianapolis, D-A Lubricant has outgrown its existing facility and is unable to expand due to land constraints. The new building, which will measure approximately 450′ x 500′, will include a 13,000-square foot office, a state-of-the-art blending/processing area, a technical lab area, and a rail door in addition to 11 dock doors. Construction is slated to begin in early spring with completion targeted for December 2011. D-A.’s 50-person workforce is expected to relocate to the new facility.
