Duke Realty Building Wagner SprayTech’s New Facility

(Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn. – Mar. 30, 2016) Duke Realty Corporation’s (Duke Realty) Minneapolis-St. Paul office has been selected as the general contractor for Wagner SprayTech Corporation’s (Wagner) new 220,000-square-foot facility in Gateway North Business Center in Otsego. The building, which will be constructed on a 12.3-acre parcel between two existing buildings in the park, will be used as a warehouse and distribution center for the Plymouth, Minn.-based company that develops and markets paint sprayers, applicators and decorating products.

“We are pleased to have been chosen by Wagner to oversee the construction of its new distribution facility,” said Josh Budish, Vice President of Leasing and Development for Duke Realty’s Minneapolis-St. Paul operations. “We are committed to bringing the same dedication to quality and customer service in constructing this facility as the other buildings we have delivered in Gateway North. This new, larger facility will provide Wagner with a functional, efficient solution for their current and anticipated space needs.”

Construction of Wagner’s new facility will begin in the second quarter with delivery slated for the fourth quarter of 2016. The building will include a 5,000-square-foot office, 36′ clear height and have the capability to be expanded by another 50,000 square feet. Wagner will relocate from its existing facility in Brooklyn Center when the building is complete.

“We look forward to moving into this new state-of the-art facility and the additional capacity it will give Wagner to better serve our customers,” said Stephen Liedtke, Senior V.P. Global Operations for Wagner. “Gateway North offers a great combination of superior highway access, a strong labor force and pro-business local government. The Duke Realty team has been working closely with us to ensure that the new building meets all of our requirements.”

Gateway North Business Center fronts Highway 101, between county roads 36 and 37, and is located a few minutes north of the I-94/Highway 101 interchange. Following the delivery of Wagner’s new facility, Gateway North Business Center essentially will be fully developed with remaining land in the park being held for existing tenants.

Paul Bickford with Colliers International and Fred Hedberg with Paramount Real Estate represented Wagner in the transaction. Dan Swartz with CBRE and Mr. Budish represented Duke Realty.
