(Lebanon, Ind. – Oct. 24, 2016) The Indianapolis office of Duke Realty Corporation (Duke Realty), a leading nationwide REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) specializing in the ownership, management and development of quality industrial facilities, has been selected as the general contractor of a new 338,500-square-foot, rail-served facility for Ken’s Foods, Inc. (Ken’s Foods) in Lebanon Business Park located off I-65 in Lebanon, Ind. Ken’s Foods purchased a 40-acre parcel from Duke Realty that has been awarded CSX Select Site status, a designation indicating that standard land use issues and comprehensive due diligence items have been previously addressed, thereby reducing the time and risk involved in delivering a facility. The building will be located in the southwest section of the park and will connect to the immediately adjacent CSX rail spur. The building will be used as a production and distribution center for the privately held company that produces and sells salad dressings, marinades and sauces.
“We are pleased that Ken’s Foods has selected Lebanon Business Park as the location for its new facility, as well as our company to oversee the construction of the building,” said Mark Hosfeld, Vice President of Leasing and Development for Duke Realty’s Indiana operations. “By having rail service and CSX Select Site designation in Lebanon Business Park, along with our development expertise, we were able to provide Ken’s Foods with a complete solution to its facility needs. We are committed to bringing the same dedication to quality and customer service in constructing this facility as the other buildings we have delivered in Lebanon Business Park.”
“We look forward to moving into our new, rail-served facility and the additional capacity it will give us to better serve our customers,” said Bob Merchant, Chief Operating Officer of Ken’s Foods. “Lebanon Business Park’s designation as a CSX Select Site provides us with assurance that development of our building won’t be affected by any unforeseen land issues. The Duke Realty team has been working closely with us to ensure that our new building will be delivered in a timely manner and meet all of our requirements, including rail access which is critical to our operations.”
Construction of Ken’s Foods’ new facility will begin in spring 2017 with delivery slated for fall 2017.
