Duke Realty Expands Atlanta Metro Area Industrial Portfolio by 561,960 SF

Commercial real estate company begins development of 336,960-square-foot spec warehouse in East Point and acquires 225,000-square-foot, fully leased warehouse in Lithia Springs.

(Atlanta, GA – May 1, 2017) The Atlanta office of Duke Realty Corporation (Duke Realty), a leading nationwide REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) specializing in the ownership, management and development of quality industrial facilities, announces that it has begun construction of Camp Creek 4505, a new, speculative warehouse in Camp Creek Business Center in East Point and purchased 2601 Skyview Drive, a 225,000-square-foot industrial building in Lithia Springs. With these transactions, Duke Realty now owns and manages more than 11.3 million square feet of industrial properties in the Atlanta metro area.

Camp Creek 4505 will be the 10th warehouse Duke Realty has developed in Camp Creek Business Center, its 400-acre industrial park located in East Point on the southwest side of Atlanta, 3.3 miles from the airport. The building will offer 336,960 square feet of modern warehouse space, including 36′ clear height, all concrete truck courts, and flexibility for plentiful auto and trailer parking.

“We elected to begin development of a spec building in Camp Creek based on our Atlanta portfolio’s high occupancy and the success in filling up 3707 North Commerce, our previous spec building,” added Brown. “This new building will allow us to meet prospective tenants’ immediate space needs or offer an alternative to existing tenants that have grown and need additional space.”

The acquisition of 2601 Skyview Drive is consistent with Duke Realty’s strategy to grow its portfolio through high-quality industrial assets in top-tier distribution markets. Located in the I-20 submarket, 2601 Skyview is fully leased and near Hartman Business Center, a 569,674-square-foot building that is also owned by Duke Realty.
