The Silicon Valley Business Journal featured Duke Realty’s development project in Fremont, California in its September 11, 2020 cover article East Bay Made, Industrial developers see promise and potential among the low-slung buildings that define Fremont’s business base. Our own Drew Hess, senior vice president of leasing and development for Northern California and Seattle provided his industry expertise on industrial development in the Bay area market.
The site, 48401 Fremont Boulevard, acquired by Duke Realty in 2019 and currently under redevelopment was a conferencing facility. Duke Realty is currently developing 209,000 square foot industrial facility with approvals from the city of Fremont. It is a speculative building but expected to lease before construction is complete.
“The building’s efficiency in design and capabilities allow it to serve a large potential user base — companies looking to stage products close to consumers, as well as companies that support various large Silicon Valley employers,” Hess said.
“The flexibility of the building and zoning creates expanded opportunities for e-commerce, manufacturing, semiconductors, life sciences manufacturing, assembly and distribution.”
