Vaccine Rollout, Relaxed Guidelines
In early 2020, our world changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Duke Realty and its associates quickly and efficiently adapted and helped accommodate our tenants’ needs. The company took preventive measures at all our offices to ensure a safe environment.
The country continues to work toward returning to our pre-pandemic lifestyles and the COVID-19 vaccination roll out is integral to getting us all there. Wearing masks and social distancing help reduce the chance of being exposed to the virus or spreading it to others. According to infectious disease experts, the vaccines will work with the immune system to fight the virus if exposed. Most Americans are encouraged to get the COVID-19 vaccine as an added layer of protection and help further protect against the deadly virus.
Over the next few months, as more Americans are vaccinated, local governments will further relax distancing, capacity and travel restrictions. Additionally, Duke Realty is gradually returning to pre-pandemic operations with an abundance of caution and care. We continue to work closely with public health experts and other advisors, as well as following guidance from the CDC and adhering to OSHA guidelines.
Our 18 offices across the country are open and Duke Realty associates are gradually beginning the process of returning to their work stations at our office locations. Safety measures, signage, masks, thermometers and enhanced cleaning protocols remain in place in each office.
At our construction sites, we continue to follow CDC and state directives. We have jobsite guidelines in place that we share with all of our subcontractors and require their compliance to continue their work on our projects. Hand washing stations, additional bathroom cleaning, social distancing and masks are all now standard at all Duke Realty job sites.
We also continue to work with our tenants to help ensure that they can remain operational. We’ve assisted them with finding cleaning services, adjusting operating hours and procedures and rent payment options.
As we return to business as usual at our in-office settings, we thank you for your flexibility and understanding over the past year as we dealt with an ever-evolving situation.
