Reproductive Biology Associates, a world leader in fertility services, is now seeing patients at Duke Realty’s two-building complex in Atlanta
ATLANTA, August 1, 2011 – Reproductive Biology Associates (RBA), a world leader in fertility services, has moved to a modern, new, patient-centered facility at the Center Pointe I and II complex in Atlanta’s Pill Hill area.
RBA began seeing patients June 27 at the 31,094-square foot location in the two-building Center Pointe complex, which is owned and managed by Duke Realty. The new, contiguous space includes all of the second floor in one building, part of the second floor in the other building, and the connecting space in between.
RBA officials said the new location better accommodates the latest high-tech equipment for in vitro fertilization (IVF) and other procedures, is more organized than RBA’s previous location, and enhances doctor and staff interaction with patients.
“The new space plan was specifically designed to maximize the quality of care we provide,” says Ron Davidson, Chief Operating Officer of RBA. “It enhances patient privacy and comfort and allows us to better leverage the technology we use on a daily basis.”
“The move to our new space has allowed us to consolidate our practice in several important areas,” adds Dr. Andrew A. Toledo, CEO of RBA. “Most importantly, our clinical area and our IVF/Surgery Center are now on the same floor. We’ve also decentralized functions like Ultrasound, Phlebotomy and our waiting room and moved them to each doctor’s clinical area. The new configuration allows for greater staff efficiency and much better patient flow.”
Duke Realty was the project manager for the build-out of RBA’s new space, and LeVino Jones Medical Interiors Inc. provided space planning and interior design services.
“Reproductive Biology Associates is a large, complex medical practice with 85 to 90 physicians and staff working in its space at any given time. They needed more than a typical doctor’s office space,” says Jason Hinkel, Senior Vice President, Southeast, Duke Realty. “Our team worked hard to address all of their needs and complete the project on time.”
“The Duke Realty team worked incredibly well with everyone – RBA, the architect and the sub-contractors – to keep the project on schedule and to deliver high-quality space,” Dr. Toledo says. “The most important thing is that our patients are going to be very pleased because, in the end, this is about patient care.”
“Every client is important, but it is particularly rewarding to serve an organization like RBA, which truly is a world leader in its specialty,” Mr. Hinkel said. “By helping couples who have had difficulty conceiving a child, they literally change people’s lives, and it feels good to be a part of that.”
Duke Realty’s Center Pointe I and II complex is located at 1100 Johnson Ferry Rd. in Atlanta’s Central Perimeter submarket, just off Interstate 285 and Georgia State Route 400. The property offers a total of 363,778 square feet of office/medical space connected by a three-story plaza. The two-building complex, which was recently remodeled, includes Center Pointe, Atlanta, Ga. a four-story parking deck, on-site café, fitness center, secure storage areas, and on-site management and maintenance staff. In addition to RBA, other large tenants are Northside Hospital, OB/GYN of Atlanta, Georgia Cancer Center, Georgia Retina and Georgia Eye Partners.
Medical office and office space is still available for lease in the Center Pointe complex. For information, please contact Larry Jarema, VP-Leasing, Southeast, Duke Realty at 770-717-3256 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
About Reproductive Biology Associates
Reproductive Biology Associates (RBA) was established in 1983 to provide emerging reproductive technology to patients who had not achieved pregnancy through conventional diagnostic and therapeutic measures. From the very beginning, RBA has been a leader in the development and refinement of clinical procedures and scientific techniques, which enhance pregnancy outcomes.
Examples of RBA leadership include the establishment of Georgia’s first in vitro fertilization (IVF) in 1983 and the state’s first IVF birth in 1984. In 1986, RBA became the third IVF program in the United States and the first on the East Coast to achieve a pregnancy from a frozen embryo. In 1992, RBA reported the first birth in Georgia using a gestational carrier and established the first anonymous oocyte (egg) donation program in Georgia. Today, the program is one of the largest in the Southeast. In 2004, RBA became the first clinic in the world to introduce pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) on frozen thawed embryos and, in 2005, added routine aneuploidy screening in young (less than 35 years of age) infertile patients, both for diagnostic and treatment purposes. In 2007, RBA developed a highly successful egg vitrification (freezing) technique and, in 2008, began offering fertility preservation services for women up to the age of 38 who desire to freeze their eggs. In 2009, RBA created the world’s largest frozen donor egg bank and, in 2010, reached 8,000 IVF live births.
