Self-Storage Facility Being Built in Duke Realty’s Anson Development

(Indianapolis, Ind. – Feb. 13, 2013) Duke Realty Corporation (Duke Realty) announced today that Self-Storage at Anson, a self-service storage facility, is being built in Anson, its 1,700-acre, mixed-use development on the northwest side of Indianapolis just off I-65. The planned facility, which is scheduled to open in July 2013, will include 500 enclosed storage units, some of which will be climate controlled. The units will range in size from 50 square feet to 250 square feet.

Located on a 4.0 acre parcel in the northeast portion of Anson’s business district, Self-Storage at Anson is being developed by Revel & Underwood, a company with similar facilities in other markets. The self-storage units are the third new commercial development along Central Boulevard in Anson in the past six months, joining the Behavior Analysis Center for Autism in Zionsville (BACA-Z) and the Hampton Inn.

“This new self-storage facility will expand the conveniences available to Anson residents and the surrounding communities of Whitestown and Zionsville,” said Charlie Podell, Senior Vice President of Duke Realty’s Indiana operations. “The addition of these units, along with other recent businesses moving into in Anson, are testament to the growing appeal of this inclusive community where people can find the services they need for their busy lifestyles nearby.”

“Self-Storage at Anson will offer both climate and non-climate controlled units so that residents have a choice on the type of space they lease,” said Craig Anderson, Vice President of Leasing and General Manager of Anson. “This facility will be the first in this submarket to offer non-climate controlled units, an option that many people have wanted for items that don’t require a heated or cooled environment.”

Self-Storage at Anson will be designed and built in compliance with the development standards established for Anson and for the I-65 PUD (planned unit development). Exterior storage will not be offered at the facility.
